
Al Salam Cycling Championship launches photography contest in collaboration with HIPA
Three prizes will be awarded for the best photos from each race, with the first-place winner receiving Dhs2,000, the second-place winner Dhs8,000, and the third-place winner Dhs5,000.
Majid Abdulrahman Al Bastaki, a member of the Higher Organizing Committee and Head of the Media Committee, stated: “Under the directives of Omair Bin Jumaa Al Falasi, Director-General of the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Al Salam Cycling Championship, we are pleased to launch this award. This initiative aligns with the routes chosen for the ninth edition’s races, aiming to document Dubai’s beauty and splendor during this time of the year, combined with the competitive spirit of cycling.
“It also provides an opportunity for talented photographers to showcase their skills and be recognized through dedicated awards for each race.”
Al Bastaki praised the partnership with the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, highlighting its leadership and influence across cultural, intellectual, and artistic spheres.
He expressed confidence that this collaboration would enrich the Al Salam Cycling Championship and enhance its status as a prominent community event.
Contest Participation Rules: Submissions are accepted exclusively through the HIPA website (www.hipa.ae).
For the first race on December 29, 2024, submissions will be open from 2pm on race day until midnight on January 8, 2025.
Participants must be individuals aged 18 or older at the time of submission.
Each participant can submit up to three photos.
Photos must be posted on the participant’s Instagram account.
Photos must be taken during the Al Salam Cycling Championship races and must not be old or unrelated images.
Technical Specifications: Submitted photos must have an original raw or high-quality JPEG format.
The original image file size must be at least 5 MB, with the longest side not less than 2000 pixels and a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
Images must not contain logos, signatures, names, borders, watermarks, dates, timestamps, or any added markings.
Basic editing is permitted, provided it does not compromise the photo’s authenticity.
The Al Salam Cycling Championship and HIPA reserve the right to evaluate and disqualify any photos deemed non-compliant with the above rules
